Not Available

I live in a major metropolitan area and the app says it’s not available in my area. You must need to live in a much larger city like LA or Chicago for this to work.

Driver can cancel last minute and your day is screwed

Today was my first time using Scoop. I had 8:30am meeting so I scheduled pickup as late as 730am. Then my driver casually texts me at 715am, asking if we can go at 8am. I replied him back I cant, and called him but he doesnt answer. I had to cancel the ride and get on bus last minute. If I had known he couldnt make it, I should have left by 7am to make 830am meeting. There is no system that makes drivers more reliable yet. If the rider doesnt show up, driver can just leave. But if the driver doesnt show up, riders are dependent on them and changing last minute in the morning and ghosting is not acceptable. Especially when the app is targeted to workers that have meetings they need to make. They should have a review system and driver/rider should be able to choose based on that too.

No support at all - DO NOT EXPECT HELP!

I recently started Scoop and it had generally been okay, except today when I had a cancellation. The carpooler mistakenly reported me as cancelled instead of the other way around. There is no way for me to contest this in the app, and upon reaching out to support to get it corrected, the ticket was IMMEDIATELY "resolved" with no response at all. I also reached out through text and same thing. If you have any issues do NOT think that they will be useful as this experience has been incredibly poor.

Good app. Horrible horrible customer service.

App works well. But once I tired cancelling my ride. It said I have 1 complimentary cancellation a month. And said it won’t charge. And then I see a $5 charge on the app. I tried contacting customer service multiple times but I have not heard back from them at all.

Never recommend this app to anyone!

I recommend this app to some of my colleagues, and now it’s matching them with the rides and I am not getting any rides!!

Latest update broke the app

Got an email to update the app. Post update, the app keeps prompting to update even though AppStore has no new updates.

Scoop for commute option disabled

Scoop for commute option disabled after an update. There is no point of keeping this app as my company not participating in scoop so commute scoop option no longer available

Having trouble communicating with lyft

No match on a raining night, scoop is having trouble communicating with lyft and cannot claim credit. Paid out of pocket.

Worst app

Scoop had been great earlier but lately has been horrible, the app doesn’t function well or the matching algorithm is horrible.

Froze button workaround

If you cannot view schedule or ride details, switching to “Account” page and then back should make it work. Would be nice if this gets fixed though it seems to be a legacy product.

Very inefficient / Cant see ride view

6 taps to book a ride, really? Accept all within the schedule button. No need separate screens. Cant view current ride. Need to go to separate context and come back.

Ridiculous price cut

I pay 7$ when i ride and get 4$ when i drive. Thats a heavy cut scoop is taking. The app itself is useful but needs bug fixes. I need to press account button and go back to commute button to be able to “view” the matched drivers or shortlist. Ridiculous workaround!!

Too many problems/bugs

App gone really bad post pandemic

Using it after pandemic. App has gone really bad. Many features don’t respond like viewing shortlist. Checking driver details doesn’t work either - app just doesn’t respond!

Fix the “view” button

Ah man, when I am matched with the driver or the rider, gosh I cannot click the “view” button in the first try. It’s so painstakingly difficult to view the shortlist or the details. I have to refresh like 20+ times to be able to click the view button

Most of the time, I can’t access ride details

When I tap on the ride details, it simply does not respond. How am I to let the person who I am going to pick up that I have arrived if I can’t access the details. Frustrating and pathetic.

Buttons don’t work!

I’m an app developer myself, and while this app is super useful to me - the developers need to seriously do a basic regression and fix the buttons! Legit cannot load a single thing, the + button to “schedule” ride never works! Also the button for “view carpool shortlist” is impossible to tap! Fix your UI, the buttons!! I have never given a negative app review in my life before but had to come here to generate some noise. I’d love to update/delete this if you can fix the basic buttons to actually book a ride because that’s literally what the app is for!

Unresponsive UI in IPhone

The Algorithm to match rides works great, but 90% of the time, the buttons to view the matched rides, scheduling a ride or canceling don’t work. I have to close the app and reload multiple times just to make a button work. It’s unpredictable when it works, and I have to wait until the view button works just to see the ride details. The app gets stuck most of times and doesn’t even respond to any gestures. The Cashout button doesn’t work either. It’s frustrating tapping all the buttons hoping that one of the times the buttons work. Worst UI.

Unable to schedule for the current trip from the app

It says schedule by X time today and has a option saying View. Clocking view is a no-op. Only when it’s like 2 hours before the scheduling deadline, another section will show up in the bottom of the screen where I can actually go to the scheduling window. Please fix the bug.

Bug that hasn’t been fixed for weeks

There’s a bug in the app - once you schedule your ride, you can’t view the route or the person you’re scheduled to pick. I pointed this out to the app about a month back and they still haven’t fixed it. Terribly slow.

Support or customer unresponsive

When u need customers care does not respond even after waiting 10 mins. Also the app interface is not great.

Not getting matched with any drivers

Lately , I am not getting matched with any drivers and other times it’s a no-show with no credit nothing. Maybe pandemic and remote offices have dried jo driver traffic. Also, Scoop should have deadline for carpool option as well, establish and cut off and let me know Sorry can’t do anything else I keep on waiting till my selected time slot thinking someone will pick me up.

Can’t click on view shortlist after not being matched Shows random “not found” when switching back to the app from task manager. Overall, it is fairly useless right now. Seems like no-one uses it, at least in my area (large city - West Cost)

Touch is not working

I have to close the app multiple times and try again to see the schedule.

Great app but buggy

The app doesn’t let me view the rider details. Need to track the rider through SMS when they message, assuming they are able to see the driver - frustrating experience.

Creepy marketing campaigns

NEW USERS BEWARE! Scoop will use your face and first name in their marketing campaigns, your local neighbors will get spammed telling them to join you in riding Scoop. I was shocked to find my name in other people’s phones, including my photo. If you use Scoop, don’t expect any privacy. Terrible app!

Rarely matches

I match about 1/3 of the time. Support gave me a “blame the victim” sort of answer that I was on a route that isn’t highly traveled. But the app shows a cloud of dots in my neighborhood. Whatevs, gtg my uber is here.

App is good but customer obsession in zero

Good thing about scoop is that I get matched almost all times. Worst thing is their customer obsession. My divers never come on time. Also mostly I’m asked to come to a different location which is far from my location. I’ve raised complaints with scoop a lot of times. But their response is always “as per our terms and conditions, they shouldn’t ask you to come to a different location. We’ll ask the drivers to follow this strictly”. But nothing changes. When I hear the same response again and again, it’s irritating. I’m not able digest your sweet words. I understand that scoop can’t force strict rules as they’re just starting up and can lose drivers. They should also think about retaining riders.

Lacks PayPal Integration

I was hoping for the ability to deposit my earnings directly into PayPal instead of putting my banking information in the app.

Its a nice alternative to have when your traveling eastbound towards the valley during the AM commute.

Love this app

I started using Scoop to ensure I started my day early, so I could enjoy my afternoons after work. Scoop helps with the gas expenses to work and I’ve met some incredible people on my journey! It makes me happy to be able to help someone, that may otherwise not be able to get to work, or simply help the environment!

Forces users to turn on location at all time

They froze accounts and force users to turn on location service at all time, not ideal.

no service in your city

tells you they do not have service in your city only after you make and verify your account. i guess they must be desperate for users. not sure these kind of tactics will make users trust them.

Good service / Never matched

In general I appreciate this service, but at the same time it’s difficult to overlook that about 90% (not exaggerating) of the time I don’t get matched despite my pick up time not being unusual and my route being pretty straightforward. It’s kind of a bummer because those *very* few times I do match it tends to be a pleasant experience. I guess this isn’t really something they can help but the issue basically renders the service useless to me if I can’t actually get to enjoy it.

One-sided carpool app. Drivers to avoid.

I have been using scoop for a long time(32 months and 290 rides matched) and in general I found scoop to be too riders friendly and making drivers role harder and harder. Riders now get unlimited monthly pass to use which makes each ride only 3 dollars but the drivers’ pay still stays the same for the past 3 years. Riders pay a very small amount compared to Uber pool but have much more power. Some riders would refuse to walk for 5 mins to meet me but had me drive in the heavily blocked traffic for 30 mins and called to located them on busy streets and found parking in downtown to wait for them. If the drivers decided not to go through this craziness then the riders could easily mark you as no show and the drivers would need to pay a fine. On the other hand, there were riders who would keep me waiting for more than 20 mins past the scheduled time and they got ZERO penalties, encouraging them to be late more and more often. Even Uber pool would charge the riders for wait time over 2 mins and riders must walk a reasonable distance to meet the drivers, not to mention Scoop drivers are not there for profits but your fellow coworkers. I contacted scoop customers service and their answers were robotically unhelpful ”it is the driver’s responsibility to pick up the riders at the locations they demand, no matter how it does not make sense for the traffic....” ”We will pass your feedback to the riders for them to be on time”. Scoop’s lack of support for drivers has encouraged some riders’s abuse on drivers with their unlimited power and no penalties. As a rider, you would certainly love this app. I did observe the shortlist got longer and longer over time and more drivers were quitting. And the riders will no longer enjoy as there are no more drivers out there willing to drive for you unless scoop fixes this problem.

Got notified after MIDNIGHT

There is a deadline to schedule morning rides (9pm the night before), but there is no deadine for the algorithm to match you. I got notified at 12:09 that they found a match. That’s ridiculous. i was asleep already and ready to carpool with someone else. The deadline for scheduling should be earlier (8pm) and deadline for them to match should be 9pm. So that driver/rider know what to expect!!!

Poor algorithm

Always matches with people who are quite far away! Doesn’t make any sense. Ride sharing is supposed to let you use the hov lane but their algorithm match just is so far away it beats the entire purpose

Map could use some work

Scoop map could use some work. It doesn’t show the correct location sometimes introduce a rating system for drivers. Idrivers cancel at the last minute during my morning commute and 5 during my evening commute over the past month. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. I have been late to meetings because someone has made me wait for half an hour and then I have given up and had to make alternative arrangements. Scoop is not helping cut my commute time, just introducing an additional stress factor. Simply blocking drivers is not the solution. How many drivers do I need to test out before finding a reliable one? Please do something about this. Thanks.

Watch out for last minute cancellation

I’ve used scoop many times and I’ve experienced a lot of cancellations from drivers and most of them are last minute making it so inconvenient
